FRIDAY MAY 22nd 2020
What a blustery day!
Meet Joshua. He was the assistant to Moses (Miriam's younger brother).
Moses has now died and although he had been a great leader it wasn't his job to lead God's people - the Israelite's - into the Promised Land - God's gift to His special people. Instead, God chose Joshua for this task but, he had some big shoes to follow and faced with such an enormous task, Joshua was scared and afraid.
Do you ever feel afraid or overwhelmed by a task at hand or something you are facing?
What can we learn from the story of Joshua today?
Have a Happy Friday and don't blow away!

PRAYER ACTIVITY WITH YOUR TODDLERS:
In our story from the Bible today, our Hero Miriam put her baby brother in a basket and kept him safe. In our prayer time, encourage your little ones to thank God for those who keep us safe and ask God to keep others safe.
You will need: cupcake cases, mini pom poms
Talk about people who keep us safe, just like Moses' mum tried to keep him safe from the Egyptians and then safe on the water. Are there any times when God has kept you safe? Who do you know who needs help to stay safe at the moment? (Suggestions are e.g. mummy and daddy, homeless people, people who were going to have an operation, people who were going on a journey).
Invite everyone to take cake a case with a pom pom in it and think about someone who keeps them safe or someone who needs help to keep safe. Either say thank you to God or ask God to help them. When you have prayed, float your cases on the water as a sign of your prayers.
